Rams in top 15 of ESPN’s post-draft NFL power rankings (ramswire)

“In ESPN’s post-draft power rankings last year, the Rams were slotted in at No. 25. Coming out of the 2024 draft, the Rams are 14th in ESPN’s poll, the same position they were in after free agency.

ESPN picked the Rams’ most improved unit as the secondary, which isn’t wrong; the additions of Kamren Curl, Darious Williams, Tre’Davious White and even Kamren Kinchens will make a big difference in the defensive backfield.

The Rams did a lot to improve their defensive front in the draft, but they still had Aaron Donald on their roster at the end of the 2023 season. Last season, Los Angeles had 10 interceptions — tied for 23rd in the NFL. Improving the secondary was a focus during free agency and the draft, with the Rams signing cornerbacks Tre’Davious White and Darious Williams and safety Kamren Curl and selecting safety Kamren Kinchens in the fifth round.

The only NFC West team ranked higher than the Rams is the 49ers, who are No. 2 behind the top-ranked Chiefs. Of the teams in the top 10, the Rams will face six of them in 2024, which shows how difficult their schedule will be.”

NFL Power Rankings 2024: What’s most improved on every team? (espn.com)

“The NFL draft is behind us, and teams are getting ready for OTAs and mandatory minicamps — which means the 2024 season is getting closer.

Since rosters have plenty of new faces, it’s time to reevaluate our 2024 Power Rankings. How did the Bears drafting Caleb Williams impact their ranking? Where do the Broncos sit after an offseason of moves and quarterback questions? Did the Eagles addressing their secondary lift them back into the top five?

In addition to our post-draft rankings, NFL Nation reporters offered up the most improved unit for every team since the 2023 season ended. Let’s start with the reigning Super Bowl champions — the Chiefs.”

Rams News: How Los Angeles Fans Feel About 2024 Schedule Release (si.com)

“The Los Angeles Rams’ 2024 NFL regular season slate has finally been unveiled, much to the delight of fans. L.A. will pick up right where it left off last season in Week 1, in a Sunday Night Football clash against the Detroit Lions. The Lions, as Rams fans will no doubt recall, just barely bested Los Angeles in waning second of their Wild Card Round matchup during last year’s playoffs, 24-23.

Ex-Rams quarterback Jared Goff, flipped to Detroit in exchange for fellow Pro Bowler Matthew Stafford, led the team all the way to the NFC Championship Game, where the Lions fell 34-31 to the San Francisco 49ers.”

Random Ramsdom Fandom: Jalen Milroe draft introduction (By Ferragamo15 on May 16, 2024)

“In earlier eras of pro football, I don’t think that Jalen Milroe would be a prized draft prospect. He would have been treated like Tee Martin, the QB who followed Peyton Manning at Tennessee, won a National Championship and was drafted in the 5th round in 2000, one of the QBs taken ahead of Tom Brady. On a triple option team, Milroe would be Tommy Frazier shedding Florida Gator defenders on his way to the end zone. Nearly a quarter century after Martin’s draft, offensive football has evolved and dual threat QBs are more viable and valuable as potential franchise starters.

Instead of being profiled as just a backup QB candidate, Milroe is projected as a 1st round prospect. Eddie Brown for the San Diego Union-Tribune mocked Milroe to the Rams at pick 18 in the 1st round of the 2025 NFL draft. In a mock draft by TDN, Milroe was the top pick in next year’s draft.

At one time, it was almost unheard of to be a black starting QB at Alabama or in pro football. If you like reading about football history, here is a long and very detailed account about the career of Marlin “The Magician” Briscoe.”
