As it did so many others, the tragic death of Windham “Bray Wyatt” Rotunda back in August shook Seth Rollins. He shared about what their friendship meant in a variety of different ways, including with live audiences at WWE house shows.

The wrestling community’s also been thinking a lot about another of Rollins’ late friends & colleagues— and one who was especially close to Bray — over the past few days. Saturday (Dec. 16) would have been Brodie Lee’s 44th birthday. The former AEW TNT champion, whose real name was Jon Huber, also wrestled for WWE as Luke Harper. We’re also coming up on the third anniversary of his tragic death.

Both men were on Rollins’ mind and in his heart at Sunday’s WWE live event in Rochester, Minnesota. After he successfully defended his WWE World Heavyweight championship against Shinsuke Nakamura & Drew McIntyre in the main event, Seth paid subtle tribute to Bray & Brody in his promo to send the crowd home:

“I know they got the lights down real low for us. The mood is set. Has anybody got any Fireflies among the audience tonight? I see a couple. I see a few now.

“This time of year, loved ones are always on our minds, man. You know what I’m saying? YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!

We’ll never forget Wyatt or Lee, in large part because of what they meant to friends like Rollins.
