It’s Wagner’s 10th All-Pro nod of his illustrious career.
The Associated Press has released its NFL All-Pro Teams for the 2023 season. Unsurprisingly, the Seattle Seahawks have limited representation, with only one player making it to either the first- or second-team.
As if the headline didn’t give it away, linebacker Bobby Wagner has made it an incredible 10 All-Pro selections out of 12 seasons. The future Hall-of-Famer made second-team alongside Demario Davis of the New Orleans Saints and Patrick Queen of the Baltimore Ravens. Out of a possible 50 voters, Wagner received nine first-team votes (worth 3 points) and an additional 14 second-team votes (worth 1 point).
Wagner recorded a league-leading 183 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and 3 passes defensed in his return to Seattle. In his one year with the Los Angeles Rams, Wagner also made it to AP All-Pro second-team. The only seasons in which he failed to make an All-Pro team were 2012 and 2013, and even in 2012 he was Defensive Rookie of the Year runner-up to Luke Kuechly.
What lies ahead for Wagner remains to be seen, but he intends to continue his playing career. The Seahawks legend is a free agent entering this offseason.
In total, six other Seahawks received All-Pro votes, but not enough to make a first- or second-team. All of them were on defense or special teams.
