Scrooge Scottie Scheffler invests in pickleball

on

He wins, earns and invests in sport. Scottie Scheffler is number one in the world rankings, is number one in 2023 earnings on the PGA Tour and is the first golfer to invest in pickleball.

We are talking about a sport that in the United States has gained a lot of footing immediately after the pandemic. It seems that there are almost 68 million Americans (almost all very young) who are practicing it. It is a combination of tennis, paddle and badminton. Pickelball is played with a perforated ball and a racket (halfway between a ping pong racket and a paddle racket) on a court the size of a badminton court. Even in Italy there is a special federation.

Scottie Scheffler, golf

Scheffer has decided to focus heavily on pickleball which he himself practiced in his college days in Dallas and still practices, golf permitting. Scottie entered the ownership of the Texas Rangers, one of the founding franchises in 2021 of Major League pickleball.. With him other Texas sports aces.

Diversifying your investments is one of the cornerstones of any financial portfolio. And that of the 27-year-old born in Ridgewood (New Jersey) is particularly swollen. For the second year in a row, he was the top-earning golfer on the PGA Tour. Last season, he “stopped” at $14 million. In the final one he wanted to exaggerate, taking home as many as 21.

We are facing a monstrous figure as well as a record (with the Tour Championship still in progress).

An undoubtedly well-deserved figure given that Scheffler has always exceeded the cut in all 22 matches played on the top world circuit. Such consistency has earned him sixteen Top 10s and two hits at the Phoenix Open and the Players Championship, respectively. Second came in the race with the highest prize pool of the 2023 PGA Tour ($4,500,000 first coin).

Scottie will be on the field at the Marco Simone for the Ryder Cup in just over a month. And he will measure himself against the other three scrooges of the PGA Tour 2023. In the special ranking of earnings, behind him, there are in fact the first three players who have already qualified for the Ryder Cup. In second place is Jon Rahm (16.5 million ), then Viktor Hovland (14.1) and Rory McIlroy (13.9).
