Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 12/15/23

The Los Angeles Rams have been playing good football lately and Matthew Stafford has been a huge part of that. Apparently the Super Bowl will eventually be making it’s way back to LA, and Stafford was asked if he thought he’d still be playing by then. He expresses that he’s not sure and that’s a fair answer. Maybe if he is still playing it will be for the Los Angeles Chargers? I kid I kid, but you never know!

I’ve asked this a few times but how much more time do you expect Stafford to give? How much more time should the Rams give Stafford? He’s been playing some pretty good football lately, do you agree?

Please comment on whatever you’d like and have a great day! Happy Friday!

Matthew Stafford has ‘no idea’ if he’ll still be playing when Super Bowl returns to LA (ramswire)

“Matthew Stafford would love to win another Super Bowl with the Rams, and doing so at home again would be special, but he has no clue if he’ll still be in the NFL three years from now.

“Come on, man,” he said laughing. “I have no idea. That’s a long way away.”

Stafford will be 36 in February which means if he did play another three years and reached the Super Bowl in 2027, he’d have just turned 39 before the game. Again, that’s a long way out, but it’s not out of the question for the Rams quarterback to continue playing for another three seasons.”

“There are several positions needing an upgrade, but these four players, specifically, are goners after the 2023 campaign is up.

1. Larrell Murchison, DE

First up is defensive end Larrell Murchison who is set to become a free agent in 2024. This is definitely a position the Rams are hurting at, and it’s not just Murchison who is to blame. Although, the fact that he’s a free agent next spring is going to make it easy for the team to move on.

Murchison has also only been a rotational and situational type of pass rusher, accounting for just 184 snaps on the season. In his 93 pass rushing snaps, though, he has not accumulated a single sack and only accounted for five total pressures. He’s been bad against the run, too, and the Rams should be quick to allow him to leave next spring.”

What Makes Puka Nacua Special? Los Angeles Rams HC Sean McVay Reveals Surprising Traits (ramsdigest)

“He’s made a lot of great plays that have really positively affected the outcome of games or for our offense, but he’s doing a lot of things in the run game,” McVay said. “There’s a physical nature at which he plays this game … that enables you to do a lot more than what you would otherwise. So there’s a toughness both with and without the ball, there’s a football IQ and acumen that he possesses, and there’s a humility.”

Nacua’s blocking isn’t a new development. It helped him make an impression this summer and flashed almost immediately after he suffered an AC joint sprain against the Cleveland Browns. Those aforementioned traits have also helped him find his place in the offense.”
