Random Ramsdom: Rich Eisen approves the Blake Corum selection

Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 4/30/24

The Los Angeles Rams added to their running back room when they drafed Blake Corum last week. Some may be wondering if it was the right pick. It was a top 100 selection that maybe could have been used elsewhere. However he comes to LA and I am excited to see what he can add. I’m curious to see if Kyren Williams still handles lead back duties.

Regardless of whatever I think it seems that Rich Eisen loved the pick and hopefully he’s right. Do you have any thoughts on the pick? You can watch Corum getting drafted and Eisen’s reaction below. I think the Rams’ twitter account (X account?) may have tweeted about it at the time.

“Rams coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead were asked about the situation on Friday following the third round of the NFL Draft and they mostly danced around the issue. First, McVay was asked if the report was accurate about Stafford not being happy with his deal.

“I’ve had good dialogue with Matthew,” McVay said, via quotes from the team. “We’ll keep those things in house, but he’s been working with our guys and we’ll keep those things in house.”

McVay and Snead were then asked if they thought the team would be able to “find a solution for the contract issue” and they basically ducked the question.

“We’re definitely jacked to have Matthew as our QB,” Snead said.”

Blake Corum was chosen far to early to sit on the bench. He will share the load with Kyren Williams, and that could be a huge avenue of keeping Williams healthy in 2024.”
