The Rams signed Kam Kinchens and Brennan Jackson, leaving Jared Verse as the last to sign

The Los Angeles Rams signed third round pick Kamren Kinchens and fifth round pick Brennan Jackson to their rookie contracts on Thursday, leaving first round pick Jared Verse as the only player from L.A.’s 2024 draft class left unsigned. Signing Verse is only a formality, we already know how much money he’s going to make over the four years, and that he will get a fifth-year team option, but not all contracts are done together.

Verse will be signed, he’s just not signed yet.

All three players mentioned here should have key roles on the Rams defense in 2024, although none bigger than Verse. He could be an immediate Week 1 starter opposite of Byron Young, a third round pick in 2023 who also had a huge role from the start of his rookie season.

Kinchens could compete to take Russ Yeast’s spot at safety or a third safety role, which is increasingly more and more common in the NFL each year.

Brennan Jackson is only a fifth round pick, but Puka Nacua proved that a strong camp can make any day three pick a vital member of the team. Jackson doesn’t have a lot standing between him and a key reserve role on L.A.’s front seven, to say the least. With a lot of competition expected following the retirement of Aaron Donald and Raheem Morris’s exit to the Atlanta Falcons, Jackson could find himself competing for a very important spot right out of training camp.
