Established Wednesday evening in the axis of the defense of Paris Saint-Germain, on the field of Bayern Munich in the round of 16 second leg of the Champions League (0-2), Sergio Ramos is at the heart of a big controversy. As explained on our website, the Spanish channel Movistar reported a resounding statement from the Spanish central defender at the final whistle of the match against the players of Julian Nagelsmann, and the elimination of the capital club at the gates of the quarter-finals. The 36-year-old had very insulting remarks towards his employer. “The fucking mother who gave birth to Paris, the fucking mother.”

“Let’s not look for something where there is nothing”

The response from the former Real Madrid legend was quick. On his account TwitterSergio Ramos came out of silence and denied having insulted Paris Saint-Germain, the club, the city and/or its supporters. “I don’t usually dwell on this subject, but I don’t want to acknowledge something that didn’t happen. At no time do I say Paris, I make a sound of disappointment ‘pssss’ or ‘pfff’ in the context of an expression (crude, admittedly) that we are used to saying in football. Let’s not invent, let’s not look for something where there is nothing.

This is probably enough to put out the fire before the controversy takes on too much importance. One certainty: the anger of the native of Camas testifies to the blow suffered by the players of Christophe Galtier, logically released by the leader of the Bundesliga in the knockout stages of the Champions League, after a disappointing second period marked by two goals conceded signed Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Serge Gnabry.
