PSG Junjia in the post-match against BLG

The interview was done in Chinese and later translated into English.

Hello everyone, this is Davide from Esports.net, and I’m joined today by Junjia. Hi Junjia, it’s unfortunate that you weren’t able to get the victory today. I know you might feel disappointed, but what do you think about today’s match?

I think BLG really played a great early game and overall, they performed very well. We have some gaps with them, and after this match, I feel I learned quite a lot. I will go back and make a good review of the games.

Did the series meet your expectations?

Actually, I didn’t think too much about the match. We just went in and played without expecting too much. Given how we played today, the score was decent, but some aspects weren’t great.

Could you elaborate on where you think improvements are needed?

I think we need to improve our defense. Their offennse was really strong, so we need to defend better.

Lane swaps have been regarded as a good strategy in this meta, but we only saw it in the fourth game. What’s your opinion on the current meta?

If they go for Vayne, lane swaps work well because we can directly counter their Vayne and prevent her from scaling. But if both top lanes are tanks, swapping isn’t as effective.

Impressions on the series

Speaking of Vayne, we saw BLG pick her in the fourth game, and in the fifth game, BLG Bin picked Ksante. Did you consider using Vayne to counter their pick at that time?

We hadn’t thought about it then, because our top laner can play Udyr quite well.

After losing the third game, what adjustments did you make?

We had a lead at the start of the third game, but I didn’t play well, which led to the loss. I felt like it was my fault, so I focused on adjusting myself and keeping my mental stable for the next two games.

And you were able to get a great fourth game with the team fight at Baron. Can you describe the team’s reaction during that moment?

They started the Baron which put them in a bad state, so we decided to engage and didn’t think much after that; we just focused on winning the fight. After that, the game was quite winnable.

What are your thoughts on Xun, especially since he performed well in the early game of Game 5?

In the fifth game, he managed not to get caught out in the bottom lane and then moved to the top lane. I wasn’t able to track his position, and I think he played really well. His coordination with mid and bot was impressive today.

You will soon face either T1 or G2 in the upcoming match. I would like to know a basic analysis of their matchup and a result prediction.

I think T1 is likely to win, and we might face G2. We’ve had practice matches against them, and I believe we have a chance to defeat them.

As for other teams, what level do you think you are at among the top eight?

I think we still need to make more progress. We need to learn more from the LPL and LCK teams to have a chance to advance to the next round.

Is there any particular player or team you want to face?

I’d like to face G2’s jungler (Yike) because we lost to them in a Bo3 at last year’s MSI. I feel I’ve improved a lot since then and want to get revenge.

Anything else you’d like to say to your fans or supporters?

Thank you for your support in recent times, I’ll go back and thoroughly review our games.
