The idea of Carolina selecting a receiver is really catching on

The Carolina Panthers, or Xavier Legette’s agents, have done everything in their power to make fans think that Legette is a lock to the Panthers somewhere in the second round. Whether that holds true or not, the fact of the matter is that the idea of bolstering the Panthers receiving corps has found a positive reception amongst the fans.

It also just seems like the thing to do when the Panthers have a tall and fast hole in their roster and multiple tall and fast blocks are projected to be available early in the second round of tomorrow’s draft.

In fact, 75% of fans think the Panthers will address the wide receiver position with their first pick in the draft.

Whether that is at 33 or after trading back is irrelevant here. We all know the team needs to catch up to the rest of the league in terms of the offensive weaponry. That’s why it is no surprise that the (distant) second place response in this survey had the team taking a center. While the choice between the two could come down to what players are available or simply a snap judgment from general manager Dan Morgan, we’re all expecting to see talent added to the offense first.

And don’t forget that you can bet on this selection and more, because the NFL season never truly ends.
