While Bayern Munich and Borussia Mönchengladbach are looking for a solution in the Yann Sommer file, the president of the Bavarians, Oliver Kahn, has spoken publicly about this file. The former Bayern Munich goalkeeper, now manager, spoke in Offenbach at the German Football League (DFL) New Year’s reception saying “that they (the two clubs, editor’s note) are in a process. I cannot say at this stage what the end of this process will be. There is nothing ready for a decision.”
He also wanted to bring confidence to Sven Ulreich, the current replacement for Manuel Neuer, who is out until the end of the season: “We don’t have a major goalkeeper problem. In Sven Ulreich we have a goalkeeper who excelled when he played. He is a goalkeeper you can absolutely rely on. Nevertheless, it is a question of considering whether something happens to Sven Ulreich.
