Finally!
The worst-kept secret of the draft in years is finally over… With the first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears have selected USC quarterback Caleb Williams.
General manager Ryan Poles and the Bears handled the predraft process as efficiently and thoroughly as possible, and they finally landed — who they believe will be — their franchise quarterback.
The on-field talent is undeniable, as Williams has been compared to other top quarterback prospects, but the intangibles have me just as excited. It was a fun few weeks watching all the bogus narratives about Williams’ character concerns fade away as the team vetted him. Plus, we got to learn more about him via the various press conferences and interviews he did. He’s as confident and competitive as they come, and I can’t wait to see him playing on Sundays.
We’ve all seen the highlight reels by now, but I enjoy watching the other stuff, too. The in-structure, from-the-pocket, getting the ball to his playmakers on time plays are the type of plays we’ll see from him more often in the NFL.

Williams will have a good collection of playmakers around him in Chicago and there’s a possibility more weapons are added in the draft.
Our own Taylor Doll talked with several NFL Draft and college football analysts over the last few weeks, and here’s a compilation of some of what she was told about Williams.

We recorded an immediate reaction podcast about the selection, so check out our Lead Draft Analyst, Jacob Infante, and I breaking it down right here.
