Draft analysts generally approve of the team’s 2024 draft class

Grades, grades, grades. In the days following the NFL Draft everyone wants to post grades, judging the work of general managers before players have even had a chance to get on an NFL practice field.

We have been giving you some of the grades for the New York Giants. We have even given you the opportunity to vote in polls to offer your own pick-by-pick grades.

Hey, everyone has an opinion, right? But, what is the consensus?

Well, the chart below, compiled by René Bugner (@RNBWCV) gives us an idea. The 28 grades compiled in Bugner’s chart lead to a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.04. That would be a ‘B’, trending toward a ‘B+’. Of the 32 NFL teams, that is the 14th-highest GPA.

Only one grader has the Giants in the ‘C’ range, with Matt Verderame of Sports Illustrated giving GM Joe Schoen’s 2024 draft class a C+. Everyone else has grades of B- or better.

Now, we know that the Giants’ draft class has to be measured against the quarterback decision they made — or didn’t make. And, we know that these snap grades are mostly meaningless.

Still, this provides a nice 30,000-foot view of how analysts believe the Giants did in the draft.
