Cleveland’s LB group has seen a lot of changes this offseason including a new addition in the NFL draft
After waiting two hours since the team took WR Jamari Thrash in the fourth round of the NFL draft, the Cleveland Browns were back on the clock in the sixth round. After adding two players to the lines in DT Michael Hall Jr. and OL Zak Zinter, GM Andrew Berry went to the second level of the defense by selecting LB Nathaniel Watson with his fourth pick.
Watson is an athletic player who is a great tackler with great pursuit and a knack for rushing the passer.
The Browns have seen a lot of turnover at the linebacker position this offseason with Anthony Walker Jr., Sione Takitaki, Matthew Adams and Jacob Phillips all heading elsewhere. Cleveland added Jordan Hicks and Devin Bush to the group in free agency, along with Watson who created a lot of pressure last year:

Now, with the selection of Watson in the sixth round, the Browns depth chart at linebacker looks like this:
- Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
- Jordan Hicks
- Devin Bush
- Nathaniel Watson
- Mohamoud Diabate
- Tony Fields II
- Caleb Johnson
- Charlie Thomas III
Watson could step in quickly as the team’s starting SAM backer, where Takitaki played, and should help on special teams right away.
How are you feeling about the Browns linebacker room with the addition of Watson?
