As tradition dictates, the Premier League continues to accompany the end-of-year celebrations in England. The 4 p.m. multiplex offered four great displays as part of the 17th day of the English championship. Newcastle and Brighton respectively made short work of their opponents of the day. The Magpies dominated Leicester (0-3) thanks to goals from Chris Wood (3rd, sp), Miguel Almiron (7th) and Joelinton (32nd). The Seagulls played their game against Southampton (1-3) with goals from Adam Lallana (14th) and Solly March (56th) and a CSC from Romain Perraud (35th). The reduction in the score of James Ward-Prowse (73rd) did not change anything at the end of the meeting.
In the other games of the afternoon, Wolverhampton snatched the victory against Everton at Goodison Park (1-2) in the duel at the bottom of the table. Yerry Mina opened the scoring (7′) for the locals, Daniel Podence equalized (22′) before Rayan Aït-Nouri saved Wolves (90’+5) in the final moments. Fulham took advantage of a Crystal Palace team reduced to nine after the exclusions of Tyrick Mitchell (34th) and James Tomkins (57th) to dispose of the men of Patrick Vieira (0-3) with goals from Bobby Reid (21st), Tim Ream (71st) and Aleksandar Mitrovic (80th). Note in the standings the provisional rise of Newcastle to second place behind Arsenal.
