Twitter was all over the place during Thursday night’s Dallas Cowboys activity.
Day 1 of the 2024 NFL draft has now concluded, and it turned out to be quite the ride for Dallas Cowboys fans anxiously waiting to find out who the next member of the team would be. The Cowboys started the day with seven picks in this year’s draft, but that number looked a bit different once the night was done. Here is how X (formally Twitter) reacted to all of the draft day madness.

Fans gathered at the team’s headquarters at the Star in Frisco to watch all of the excitement and the team gave us a peek into their war room.

All of the three other NFC East teams picked ahead of the Cowboys and each team got some excellent players for their first picks.
Jayden Daniels controls the line of scrimmage and is a marksman with his ball placement. His playing style will keep the fans on their feet, rejuvenize this fan base and inspire his teammates to go make plays for him. 40 TD passes and over 1k rushing yards. That kid is special. pic.twitter.com/LHOcIv3HMM

The #Giants don’t make a trade and they pick at No. 6: Malik Nabers of LSU.
They bluffed at QB at No. 6, hoping someone went above them. Instead, they take a weapon for their QB.

“Quinyon Mitchell is a big physical kid and he’ll help the Eagles on all four downs..
He’s got good skills and I’m sure the Eagles will develop him” ~ Bill Belichick #PMSDraftSpectacular pic.twitter.com/P4xAWtlUWE

As the Cowboys were getting closer and closer to their 24th overall pick, many were questioning who they would pick, or if a trade down would be a better option.
What do the Cowboys do if the OL they like are not there at 24, unable to find a workable trade down and they are left with their top players being on the defensive side of the ball? Name to ponder: Mizzou edge Darius Robinson, who was a 30 visit. Don’t think LB would be option.

Here’s the gauntlet.
Things get dicey from 18-23 where that the offensive line run could begin. Time to start sweating Cowboys fans. #NFLDraft

One thing to monitor from the Cowboys this draft: They are projected to have an NFL-high four compensatory picks in 2025. Anticipating that boost, Dallas could leverage some of assigned 2025 capital to upgrade 2024 draft stock. Something to watch in days ahead.
— Michael Gehlken (@GehlkenNFL) April 25, 2024
In one way or another, something is about to shake here shortly for the #Cowboys.
The board is still very much in their favor for a trade back (please do this), but will they decide to pull the trigger on a making the pick instead?
Buckle up.

The Cowboys are on the clock!
Cowboys are on the clock.
Graham Barton and Tyler Guyton are still available.
— Jon Machota (@jonmachota) April 26, 2024
Trade back.
This is a marathon. https://t.co/CvDXA4eyQI
— RJ Ochoa (@rjochoa) April 26, 2024
They better not trade away from Barton…
— Connor Livesay (@ConnorNFLDraft) April 26, 2024
There’s going to be a very fun name available for the Cowboys if they’re willing to ignore their most glaring needs.
Terrion Arnold. Quinyon Mitchell. Cooper DeJean. Brian Thomas Jr.
In addition to whatever OL might fall.

***TRADE ALERT***
TRADE: #Cowboys are trading DOWN and out of the 24th-overall pick in a deal with the Lions, moving them to the 29th-overall pick.
— Patrik [No C] Walker (@VoiceOfTheStar) April 26, 2024
This is the right move.
We desperately need more picks. Board is still stacked. https://t.co/RFr5lBLhSd

I’ll take an extra 3 for sure! Opens up a lot of possibilities for DAL. Big fan. https://t.co/gZdVL1JyjF
— John Owning (@JohnOwning) April 26, 2024
I would not be mad if we traded back…twice #DallasCowboys
— Cameron Magruder (@ScooterMagruder) April 26, 2024
After trading their 24th pick and a 2025 seventh-round pick to the Lions for the 29th and 73rd, the Cowboys were finally on the clock for number 29.
Could the Cowboys trade out of the first round completely? https://t.co/LxljihtkXN
— Joseph Hoyt (@JoeJHoyt) April 26, 2024
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers take Graham Barton.
The pipedream is gone for the Cowboys, but still players on the board.
— Nick Harris (@NickHarrisDC) April 26, 2024
… and with the 29th overall pick, the Dallas Cowboys select Tyler Guyton, Oklahoma.

I like it Dallas. OT Tyler Guyton One of the guys you wanted, offensive line in 1st round always pays off and picked up an extra pick.
— Jane Slater (@SlaterNFL) April 26, 2024
Cowboys don’t miss on 1st round OL!!! https://t.co/cY7bHigapo

Learn a bit more about the new tackle in Dallas:
Here is my scouting report on #Cowboy Tyler Guyton.
Penalties were a bit of an issue for him and the rawness is evident, but he is as toolsy as they come. pic.twitter.com/GXUG6Us0eT
— Connor Livesay (@ConnorNFLDraft) April 26, 2024
Tyler Guyton was drafted with pick 29 of round 1 in the 2024 draft class. He scored a 9.73 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 38 out of 1377 OT from 1987 to 2024. https://t.co/vNBXTj1OyN pic.twitter.com/rlN2tBokFk
— Kent Lee Platte (@MathBomb) April 26, 2024
Tyler Guyton has near-elite raw power and has room to grow into an impact starter for the #DallasCowboys. #OUDNA pic.twitter.com/40JCflviqK

How did X react to the pick?
This was the logical pick in the territory that Dallas was picking and they added a top 100 pick in the process.
A+ overall night. https://t.co/MpZK7HySbn
— RJ Ochoa (@rjochoa) April 26, 2024
Tyler Smith not being forced to move from LG is a huge part of the Guyton selection.
Keeping the All-Pro at LG was always the best decision, but now Dallas will be forced to do so.
— Matt Holleran (@HolleranMDH) April 26, 2024
After originally complaining about Tyler Smith, I’ll never complain or question the decision at offensive line in the first round. Hoping for the best (really wanted JPJ though.) https://t.co/U453pjlhkl
— Chris Halling (@ChrisHalling_) April 26, 2024
Listen… I trust them.
In the 1st round, it didn’t make sense to me. But it makes sense to them, and they tend to be right!!
— Ben Larimore (@larimore_ben) April 26, 2024
Trade back makes it feel a lot better, but Tyler Guyton is RAW. Not sure he’ll be ready to make much of an impact in year one, but think he is the long-term answer at LT or RT if the Steele stuff doesn’t improve quickly.
— Connor Livesay (@ConnorNFLDraft) April 26, 2024
Lost a Tyler, lost a Tyron
Gained a Tyler, to play next to another Tyler. Do the Cowboys have a type?
— Kyle Youmans (@Kyle_Youmans) April 26, 2024
Micah Parsons and Dez Bryant also reacted to the news:

Congratulations Tyler Guyton!
— Dez Bryant (@DezBryant) April 26, 2024
And what did Tyler Guyton himself have to say?
Dallas Cowboys OT Tyler Guyton on @1053thefan: I’ll do anything for this Star on my helmet right now… I’m going to do everything in my power to make the team better.
— RJ Ochoa (@rjochoa) April 26, 2024
Tyler Guyton’s first words on @TheDraftShow:
“I’m f***ing ecstatic.”
