Monmouth men’s team beats Wagner 7-0!

The Monmouth University men’s tennis team continued their streak in convincing fashion with a 7-0 win over visiting Wagner on Friday afternoon.

The Hawks won all three of their doubles games to secure their first point before sweeping the singles competition. Dmitry Bezborodov and Niels Van Noord won 6-2 in doubles no. 1, while Gabriel Busato and Victor Castro won 6-1 in double no. Christof Zeiler and Arthur Dussaubat won 6-2 at number 3 doubles.

Monmouth’s momentum continued into singles play as Victor Castro extended his personal hitting streak to five straight games with a 6-2, 6-2 first singles victory. Alexander Zuckerman, Christof Zeiler, Arthur Dussaubat and Lucca Silva won both sets, while Diego Laporta outscored his opponent 7-5, 5-7, 10-6.

Monmouth improved to 13-4 on the season with the win.

Monmouth University is a private university located in West Long Branch in the state of New Jersey.

Monmouth’s athletic teams are known as the Hawks. The Hawks compete as members of the Colonial Athletic Association. The school had competed as a Division I (NCAA) school in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference from 2013 to 2023.
