Mark Tyler’s Washington Commanders Round Two Big Board

Pick two of the first round saw Washington land the new face-of-the-franchise in LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels. Many thought Adam Peters would move back into the second half of round one to land a left tackle, but unfortunately that did not happen.

With five picks on day two, and plenty of talent still left, this will be where the new staff can really make an impact.

Team Needs:

Quarterback

Offensive Tackle

Tight End

Wide Receiver

Cornerback

EDGE

LB

I’m all about drafting with a value vs. need approach. The way things feel last night during round one, and how things are sitting currently heading into day two, help form by big board below.

Example – Being that we lost both Sweat and Young via trade last year, and seeing how we signed just Armstrong to more than a one-year deal, EDGE is certainly a need. However, this was not a great draft class at EDGE, and the top guys are all off the board. There are still some intriguing names, but the need at other positions, combined with the fact that we did sign three new EDGE rushers and re-signed one of our own, lowers that need based on my value vs. needs approach.
