Mithali Raj picks her India squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024

Team India‘s squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is expected to be announced soon by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Leading up to the announcement, numerous former cricketers have shared their insights on what the combination of Team India might look like at the mega event.

Adding to the discourse, former Indian women’s team captain Mithali Raj has unveiled her squad for the Men in Blue set to participate in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Mithali disclosed her team for the global event through Star Sports, confirming Rohit Sharma as the continuing leader. Additionally, the squad featured Virat Kohli and Sanju Samson among its members.

Mix up of youth and experience in Mithali Raj’s squad

A potent blend of seasoned veterans and exciting young talents characterizes Mithali’s squad. Rising stars Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh share the dressing room with T20 greats like Rohit, Virat, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya.

In a surprising move, Mithali decided to rule out the in-form batter KL Rahul, preferring to select both Rishabh Pant and Sanju as wicketkeepers.

India’s T20 World Cup spin attack is a three-pronged weapon, spearheaded by the in-form wrist-spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal. Fresh off their IPL heroics, where they bamboozled batters with their leg-break artistry, they’ll be joined by the ever-dependable Ravindra Jadeja, whose all-round skills add further bite to this potent bowling unit.
