WWE revealed the full bracket for the King of the Ring tournament earlier this week, with the SmackDown side of the tourney set to begin on tomorrow’s (May 10) episode of SmackDown on FOX.

The original bracket shows that Bobby Lashley was scheduled to fight Tama Tonga in the first round. However, General Manager Nick Aldis announced a short while ago on social media that Lashley suffered an injury during training and is not medically cleared. As a result, he is out of the King of the Ring and will be replaced by his stablemate Angelo Dawkins:

I don’t know yet if Bob’s injury is a shoot or a work. If it’s a work, then pulling him from the tournament is one way to protect Lashley from taking a fall in a first round match. However, it wouldn’t make sense to book him in this tournament match in the first place if that’s the case.

Either way, the outcome of Tama Tonga’s KOTR first round match is now a lot more clear; it’s hard to see him dropping a match against a mid-card tag team wrestler who has never been pushed as a singles star.

What do you think about this change to the King of the Ring tournament, Cagesiders?
