For his first selection with the France team, Jean-Clair Todibo went through the traditional stage of hazing during which he had to sing in front of all his new teammates. After this first experience with the Blues, the OGC Nice player was expected at a press conference. If the questions from the journalists naturally focused on his adaptation to the tricolor group and on his discovery of Clairefontaine, there was also question of his future. Asked about a possible departure for a club of international reputation, like Raphael Varane and Ibrahima Konaté, the 23-year-old player prefers to focus on the present and his contract with the Nice club. Nevertheless, Jean-Clair Todibo still affirmed that a reflection on the subject was also on the agenda…

“It’s a complicated question. To be honest, I do not know. Today I am here as a Niçois, I am under contract with OGC Nice until 2027. Afterwards, would the right choice for me be to leave Nice for a big club? I do not know yet. Obviously there is a reflection around that but it is not the moment to think about it, I am well in Nice and we will see what the future holds for me. At 18 I had a lot of big European clubs on me. The choice was that of an 18-year-old. Now with the experiences I’ve had, I’m much calmer, much more serene and thoughtful at this level. So if I have to make a choice in the near future, I will do it with a lot of calm and serenity and reflection, especially since that is what is most important.
