Huge expert talks about Novak Djokovic’s injury

on

There was a lot of talk about the left hamstring injury that afflicted Novak Djokovic during the 2023 Australian Open. Although not in perfect physical condition, the Serbian still won his tenth ‘Down Under’ title, leaving only one sets throughout the tournament. After a somewhat muted start, the 35-year-old from Belgrade raised his level by giving the crumbs to poor de Minaur, Rublev, Paul and Tsitsipas. Nole won his 22nd Grand Slam, catching his eternal rival Rafael Nadal at the top of the all-time rankings. As if that weren’t enough, the ‘Djoker’ returned to the top of the ATP rankings by ousting Carlos Alcaraz from the throne after 20 weeks of reign. On the sidelines of the event, AO director Craig Tiley revealed that Novak played with a three-centimeter tear in his left thigh. The 22-time Grand Slam champion was injured during the ATP semifinal in Adelaide against Daniil Medvedev and had to miss many workouts before the start of the Australian Open.

Nole won the AOs for the 10th time

Craig Tiley, director of the Australian Open, revealed that Novak Djokovic won the 2023 Australian Open while playing with a three-centimeter tear in his left thigh, but there are those who doubt this information. While waiting for the Serb to release images of the exams – as he promised –, an expert in the area has questioned what was advanced by Tiley. “I would like to see the digitization. I listened to Craig’s comments and he said the doctors were being honest. Well, let’s see. I wonder if Craig is mistaking the signal from 3 centimeters away in an MRI tendon. The sign could mean some inflammation, it doesn’t mean rupture. I never doubted that Novak had a hamstring injury, but it’s very difficult to imagine that with a tear of three centimeters you can have a good level of performance”, shot Peter Larkins, to SEN Sportsday. Former doubles World No. 1 Rennae Stubbs has predicted that Novak Djokovic will end his illustrious career with 28 Grand Slam titles to his name. “I think that by the time Novak [Djokovic] finishes his career, he’s gonna have, I’m gonna guess at 28. I think that he can win at least five more Grand Slams by the time he’s finished his career. So that’ll put him in about 27,” she said. “You have to think that he is a favorite every time he plays, particularly a hardcourt Grand Slam or at Wimbledon. I mean, the guy can win a couple more Wimbledon titles,” she added.
