The edge rusher is set on playing more snaps in 2024.

Myles Murphy only played 305 snaps as a rookie on the Cincinnati Bengals, but part of that was due to the fact that his body had yet to make the adjustment to the NFL. He’s hoping to change that this year.

The edge rusher told Bengals.com’s Geoff Hobson that, upon arriving in Cincinnati, he noticed the big difference between combine shape and football shape. And so he looked to his elders for guidance.

“One thing I picked up from the veteran D-linemen is investing in your body is not a bad thing,” he said. “Nothing’s cheap. All the stuff that I had at Clemson and didn’t use last year, I think those are things that can be beneficial to me.”

So what are some of those things?

How about an infrared sauna right in his garage?

You can thank Sam Hubbard for that suggestion. “He’s the one who was telling me about the cold tub and sauna when I was asking about what he uses at home,” Murphy, who is currently contemplating adding an ice tub and hyperbaric chamber, said. “You just watched Sam every day and you can see how important it is for him to take care of his body.”

With an already physique and a great deal of upside, don’t be surprised to see Murphy take a big leap on account of taking better care of his body.
