How long will Star Wars be in Fortnite (2024)

on

Fortnite just introduced Star Wars once again for May 4. Epic Games brings this collaboration back essentially on a yearly basis, largely because it’s such a hit with fans. They love playing with the unique blasters and getting to carry lightsabers. The skins are also fan favorites and usually get bought pretty quickly. Even though it’s only a few days old and most players have quite enjoyed it so far, it’s worth wondering how long Star Wars will be in Fortnite.

How Long Will Fortnite x Star Wars Last?

The Fortnite x Star Wars collaboration is expected to run until May 14. On that day, the collaboration will end at about 9 am EST (2 pm BST). That doesn’t line up exactly with the end of the current season, though. The season will continue until May 24, so there will be 10 days between the end of the current collaboration and the beginning of Chapter 5 Season 3. After the collaboration ends, players will have to wait about a year to see the return of lightsabers and the new Wookie Bowcaster.

What Is In The Star Wars Event?

Every year, Epic tries to bring in new things to the crossover. What began as a few characters and a few lightsabers has grown tremendously over the last few years. Now, it’s as big as ever, with brand new characters and items being added in 2024:

  • Wookie Bowcaster
  • Chewbacca Skin
  • Lando Calrissian Skin
  • AWR Trooper Skin
  • Luke Skywalker (Dagobah) Skin
  • Lego Fortnite Characters and Stories
  • Fortnite Festival Tracks and Instrument Skins

Of course, many returning skins were brought back to the Item Shop, such as Han Solo, Boba Fett, Kylo Ren, and more. Darth Vader also returned as an NPC boss with a rare lightsaber drop. Chewbacca was also put on the island as a friendly NPC. With the ever-growing list of Fortnite Star Wars characters, it starts being a little more difficult to envision which characters might be added next time around. Eventually, Epic is going to run out of meaningful characters to introduce to the metaverse, but this collaboration shows no signs of slowing down.
