The European Qualifiers for the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 are back underway, with three action-packed games having played out on the server today. The fixtures were as follows: SAW vs. Sampi, GamerLegion vs. MOUZ NXT, and KOI vs BLEED.

It was a pretty stacked day, to say the least. But who came out on top in the Round of 16 at the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 EU Closed Qualifiers? Let’s take a look!

It was a new-look GamerLegion who took to the server against MOUZ NXT, with sl3nd and aNdu now in place of acoR and Keoz. However, it was a winning start, with both new players putting on a show to get this roster off to a promising start.

2:1 was the score in the series, but MOUZ NXT were not exactly at full strength, with Anlelele standing in for this match. The real saving grace for MOUZ NXT is sirah, who continues to show that he’s a real star in the making.

BLEED stun KOI

On paper, KOI vs. BLEED felt like a bit of a mismatch, honestly. The Spaniards should have made short work of kassad’s team, but instead, it’s BLEED moving on to the next stage of the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 EU Qualifiers. Given KOI made it to the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 and BLEED couldn’t even make it to the RMR, it’s somewhat of a surprise.

On the day, it was as scrappy a Counter-Strike match as you’re ever likely to see. BLEED’s winning maps went to overtime, and man for man, KOI massively outfragged them. However, it’s rounds that win you CS matches, and BLEED simply managed to get more over the line here. Their main concern will be AWPer CeRq, who went 40-58 across all three maps.

SAW fall to Sampi

The big surprise of the day was SAW losing to Sampi. The Portuguese outfit have looked solid in their last few outings, but lost a 2:1 series in pretty convincing fashion. It was a rough series all around for SAW, with the usually consistent ewjerks and arrozdoce not really showing up.

Credit to Sampi, however. They proved themselves worthy of heading to the next stage of the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 EU Qualifiers, with ZEDKO stepping up as the star of the show here.
