Detroit SHOWED UP for the 2024 NFL Draft, reportedly shattering the attendance record for the opening night.

After a dozen picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell addressed the massive crowd packed into Campus Martius in Downtown Detroit. He had an important message for the ravenous fans.

Detroit had shattered the NFL Draft attendance record with an estimated 275,000 people attending the event on Thursday night. To give you a sense of just how ridiculous this number is, the NFL record for draft attendance FOR THE ENTIRE WEEKEND was 200,000 before Nashville shattered that with 600,000 for the weekend in 2019. But in Nashville, they only had an estimated 200,000 for the opening night of the draft.

The crowd in Detroit was so massive on Thursday night that the event had to close the entrances hours before the draft even began.

What an incredible scene in downtown Detroit. And so far, the Detroit draft has gone off without a hitch. That includes an extremely HYPED intro filled with Lions players who were repping the city and the team.
