DECIMATED is the latest in the post-apocalyptic survival games genre. The PvP and PvE online game experience is designed to creates a realistic simulation for players in this dystopian environment. The game is currently set to become available on the Epic Games store in Q4 of 2024 so there really isn’t long left to wait.
Epic Games has made some moves in recent months, with the Store coming to mobile later in 2024.

A Newly DECIMATED World
If you’re a fan of the post-apocalyptic genre, DECIMATED might just be the new game for you. The game features a relentless battle for survival against mutated creatures, environmental hazards, and rival survivors.
What makes this game different to many others in the genre is that you can still use advanced technology to help, as long as you can find it!
You won’t just have to run around in the open either. You can find vehicles, buy supplies in markets and build your very own base. It’s probably worth forging an alliance or two as well – the more rivals you have, the more likely that your base will be raided!
It’s not only other players you have to worry about though. Robots and mutated monsters all form part of the landscape too.
Investment and community playing a part
Decimated received an Epic Mega Grant and was backed by 46 investors in December 2021. This came as a welcome relief after the studio was self-funded as an indie start-up for 3 years.
Developers Fracture Labs were offered $34M from 180 investors and accepted $3.5M from VC’s. Since then, the DECIMATED community has grown to 60k followers on Twitter and 23k members in Discord. If you join the Discord, you can take part in the alpha testing of the game too. At this stage of the development, things are looking good but the more feedback they receive, the better.

DIO Tokens
Post apocalyptic games are nothing new on the Epic Games Store but DECIMATED has found a way to set itself apart. The developers have created a real-time digital economy within the game itself. Every transaction, trade, and treasure found is valued in DIO, a cryptocurrency that can be bought via the Trust Wallet wallet.
You don’t necessarily have to buy the tokens yourself though. There are plenty of opportunities to earn them in the game. You can get started by salvaging cargo and lost technology and engaging in both legal and illicit transactions (in the game!).
If you don’t want to go it alone, you can join a guild or clan to help you earn and stay safe. There’s even a leaderboard system so you know how your guild is ranking against others in the game.
In a recent announcement, DECIMATED confirmed its official sponsorship of Token2049 Dubai. There is the intention for the game to transcend entertainment and become a much more important part of online gaming.
