The Chargers will be forced to start Brendan Jaimes at center for the final three games of the regular season after placing Will Clapp on injured reserve.
The hits just keep on coming for the Chargers as they attempt to scratch and claw their way to the finish line of the 2023 regular season.
Per ESPN’s Field Yates, the Chargers are placing center Will Clapp on injured reserve, effectively ending his season. Clapp sustained a lower-body injury in the second half against the Raiders this past Thursday and he was swiftly replaced by former fifth-round pick Brenden Jaimes and it looks like the former Husker will hold that duty for the final three games.

When Jaimes graduated from Nebraska, he held the record for the most consecutive starts by a Huskers offensive lineman in program history with 40, most of which came at left tackle. Jaimes was drafted to play offensive guard for the Chargers but the success of both Zion Johnson and Jamaree Salyer forced him to slide even further inside to the pivot in order to maximize his potential impact for the team.
Please say a prayer for the fan base that will now have to watch an offense that features the team’s backup quarterback with one career start taking snaps from the team’s third-string center who will earn his first career start this coming Saturday.
