Monday, January 7th
- The Chargers have requested an interview with 49ers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks. Wilks coached defensive backs for the Chargers from 2009 to 2011. Safety Eric Weddle has a career-high seven interceptions in 2011 and was a First-Team All-Pro under Wilks.
The #Chargers are requesting to interview #49ers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks for their vacant head coaching job, sources tell me and @RapSheet. Wilks’ Niners defense was third in points allowed, eighth in yards this season after he went 6-6 as #Panthers interim HC.

- The Chargers have requested interviews for both Lions coordinators, offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, for their head coach vacancy. Johnson led the Lions offense to third in total yards per game and fifth in total points. Glenn built the Lions into the league’s second-best rushing defense.
Meanwhile, the #Chargers requested interviews with Ben Johnson and #Lions DC Aaron Glenn for their head coaching job, per sources.
That’s three for Johnson and two for Glenn, who both were requested in Washington as well. Hot candidates. https://t.co/wtIoL0QkcE
