As it always seems with GM Andrew Berry, the Cleveland Browns continue to make roster moves. With the NFL draft completed and undrafted free agents reportedly agreeing to sign, along with the majority of NFL free agency completed, the Browns 90-man roster is mostly set.

Based on the reporting UDFA signings, including three that have a solid chance to fight for a 53-man roster spot, Cleveland’s roster seemed full. An exception was available through the International Player Pathway Program (IPP Program).

Monday, Berry and the Browns signed OT Roy Mbaeteka (pronounced: mm-BEH-tick-uh) to take that position and become Cleveland’s 91st player.

Mbaeteka is a 6’8”, 330-pound tackle who spent two seasons on practice squads starting with the New York Giants in 2022 and with the Chicago Bears last season. He learned football just two years before joining the Giants with the help of former New York great Osi Umenyiora.

The Giants highlighted Mbaeteka’s first NFL game. You can see a few clips of him here along with some explanation of his background:

With the IPP Program, Mbaeteka can be kept on Cleveland’s practice squad roster into the season as a 17th player to the normally 16-person squad.
