Denver Broncos fans loved the work head coach Sean Payton and general manager George Paton did with the team’s limited draft picks this year.

In our weekly SB Nation Reacts survey we asked if you thought the Denver Broncos came out of the 2024 NFL Draft a winner and the response was overwhelmingly positive. 91% of you voted winner over loser despite the outside narrative being that the team reached to get Oregon quarterback Bo Nix with the 12th overall selection.

There are so many caveats there, but the main one being that there were reports that Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams were primed to pick Nix with the 19th overall pick. So if Denver had played the value game they would have ended up with no quarterback and how the ‘experts’ would have eviscerated Sean Payton and the Broncos then?

The other caveat is that despite the reach for Nix, the Broncos will came out with one of the most valuable drafts according to analytics. They scored talent later than most analysts assumed those players would go, which is exactly the kind of draft Denver needed after their first pick.

Our survey results included some national polls too with Bo Nix included.

It kind of feels like the same 11% of fans voted in both of these polls, which is how it should be. If you believe Bo Nix is going to have the easiest transition into the NFL then you should probably believe he will end up being the best player outside the Top 10 in this draft class as well.
