During the media day of the Mutua Madrid Open, the Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka spoke on many topics, including a curious anecdote about women’s and men’s tennis. The very strong and beautiful Aryna also sent a message to her friend Paula Badosa.

Sabalenka responded to a particular question on the possibility of considering her, together with Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina, the Big 3 of the WTA tour, surprising the media present in the press room.

“I feel like I’ve lowered the level a bit within that hypothetical Big 3, this last month seems more like a Big Two! I’m still happy to be part of this group. I hope to maintain my level and that things keep going like this.

I don’t watch their matches: I have the feeling that I’ve played enough against them. If I play them again, my coach shows me their images to analyze them and prepare.

I’m not one to watch too much tennis, I prefer watching men’s tennis rather than women’s tennis. I feel like there’s more logic to it and it’s more interesting to watch,” she explained.

Aryna Sabalenka shares a beautiful message to her friend Paula Badosa

Her best friend Paula Badosa recently announced that doctors have told her that it is difficult for her to continue her career on the circuit due to back problems.

“I love Paula very much. We’ve been friends for three or four years, she’s an incredible person. It’s very important to have friends on tour, so when you find someone who you feel is your soulmate it’s the best thing that can happen to you.

I hope she returns to the elite, that she stops suffering from injuries. I’m always here for whatever she needs. I’m lucky not to meet her in the first round here in Spain. She would create a very interesting atmosphere, so I think I’m lucky.

We literally had a conversation this morning and I told her I had a similar injury. I simply explained to her what I was doing at the time, what exercises I could do. I simply shared with her my experience and how I was able to get out of that injury,” Sabalenka said about Badosa.
