Predicting the future one pick at a time

1st Round

1st Overall Pick — Chicago Bears (from Carolina Panthers)
Caleb Williams — Quarterback — USC

The Bears traded Fields so they can go get Caleb Williams, who they hope can be their franchise altering quarterback. Williams is a magician on the field and his backyard style of play fits perfectly in today’s NFL.

2nd Overall Pick — Washington Commanders
Jayden Daniels — Quarterback — LSU

Daniels is the 2nd best quarterback in this class and a lot closer to Williams than people think. The Commanders get a serious player and hopefully they build a team around him and not mess this one up.

3rd Overall Pick — New England Patriots
Drake Maye — Quarterback — North Carolina

Despite the recent hype on McCarthy, Maye is clearly the superior player and the 3rd best in the class. Pats need a QB like a fish needs water.

4th Overall Pick — Arizona Cardinals
Marvin Harrison Jr — Wide Receiver — Ohio State

Harrison is the best player in the draft and the Cards get a superstar to pair with Kyler Murray. He is also the best receiving prospect since Calvin Johnson.

5th Overall Pick — Los Angeles Chargers
Joe Alt — Offensive Tackle — Notre Dame

Jim Harbaugh spoke recently on the importance of the offensive line, so I expect him to take Alt to shore up the right side of the line. They can afford to pass on a receiver in such a deep draft.

6th Overall Pick — Minnesota Vikings (from New York Giants)
JJ McCarthy — Quarterback — Michigan
Trade: Vikings trade 11th Overall and 23rd Overall for 6th Overall Pick

The Vikings badly need a quarterback so to ensure they get one of the four top ones, they’ll trade their two firsts to get McCarthy. McCarthy may not start on day 1, but with the right coaching, he should be their long-term guy.

7th Overall Pick — Tennessee Titans
Malik Nabers — Wide Receiver — LSU

The Titans get lucky as they get one of the 4 best players in the draft at the 7 spot. Nabers can do it all and will be an immediate star.

8th Overall Pick — Atlanta Falcons
Dallas Turner — Edge Defender — Alabama

Turner’s stock has been rising steadily over the past few weeks and he’s established himself as the top defensive pick in terms of odds. Falcons need a true defensive game changer and Turner could very well be that and from game 1.

9th Overall Pick — Chicago Bears
Rome Odunze — Wide Receiver — Washington

Despite getting Keenan Allen, the Bears could still use a receiver since we expect to see a lot of 3 receiver sets. Odunze would be the best receiver in many drafts and could become the long-term #1 in Chicago (even over Moore).

10th Overall Pick — New York Jets
JC Latham — Offensive Tackle — Alabama

PROTECT AARON RODGERS AT ALL COSTS!

11th Overall Pick — New York Giants (from Minnesota Vikings)
Quinyon Mitchell — Cornerback — Toledo

The Giants need to rebuild their secondary and getting Mitchell allows them to start the rebuild with a true #1 cornerback. He might struggle early on due to some raw traits, but if this pick hits, they have themselves a top 8 corner in the NFL.

12th Overall Pick — Denver Broncos
Brock Bowers — Tight End — Georgia

Sean Payton has shown love to Bowers and he gets his guy here. Bowers does it all and will be one of the 5-6 best tight ends in the NFL by the end of his rookie season. He is one of the safest picks in the draft.

13th Overall Pick — Las Vegas Raiders
Graham Barton — Offensive Guard — Duke

The Raiders need a little bit of help in a couple of spots on their offensive line, and Barton’s versatility allows them to plug and place him in their weakest spot.

14th Overall Pick — Philadelphia Eagles (from New Orleans Saints)
Terrion Arnold — Cornerback — Alabama
Trade: Eagles trade 22nd Overall + 50th Overall for 14th Overall Pick

The Eagles trade up to get themselves a physical cornerback that they can put in press coverage at anytime. They ran man around 33% of the time last season so Arnold should fit in nicely for them.

15th Overall Pick — Arizona Cardinals (from Indianapolis Colts)
Byron Murphy — Defensive Tackle — Texas
Trade: Cardinals trade 27th Overall + 35th Overall for 15th Overall

You know a trade back is very possible with Chris Ballard! The Cards need defensive line help and some additions in the offseason help but Murphy is great value here and that’s why I see the Cardinals jumping to get him.

16th Overall Pick — Seattle Seahawks
Laiatu Latu — Edge Defender — UCLA

West Coast guy joins a West Coast team. Latu is a talented rusher with some questionable medical reports, but he could easily be the edge guy the Seahawks have been looking for for years.

17th Overall Pick — Jacksonville Jaguars
Cooper DeJean — Cornerback — Iowa

DeJean is an athletic freak and has great versatility on the backend. The Jags need secondary help badly so DeJean is a perfect fit.

18th Overall Pick — Cincinnati Bengals
Taliese Fuaga — Offensive Tackle — Oregon State

The Bengals found some new guys on the edge, but it doesn’t solve their problem long-term especially on the right side. Fuaga has experience on the right side and could compete with Brown from Day 1.

19th Overall Pick — Los Angeles Rams
Tyler Guyton — Offensive Tackle — TCU

The Rams have needed help on the outside ever since Whitworth left. Guyton can hopefully shore up the offensive line and take their offense to another level.

20th Overall Pick — Pittsburgh Steelers
Amarius Mims — Offensive Tackle — Georgia

The Steelers need a real offensive line and while their interior line is decent, the tackles are weak. Mims is a big body who has the potential to be the anchor of their offensive line, but he’ll need time to develop.

21st Overall Pick — Buffalo Bills (from Miami Dolphins)
Adonai Mitchell — Wide Receiver — Texas
Trade: Bills trade 28th Overall + 60th Overall for 21st Overall

The Bills badly need a receiver after overhauling their offense so going out and getting Adonai Mitchell helps fill a need. He’s a big bodied explosive threat that should mesh well with Josh Allen’s big arm.

22nd Overall Pick — New Orleans Saints (from Philadelphia Eagles)
Kool Aid McKinstry — Cornerback — Alabama

The Saints had to unload a lot of players over the past couple of years and they could use some help in their secondary, as it lacks depth. Kool Aid is a very good scheme fit for them.

23rd Overall Pick — New York Giants (from Cleveland Browns via Minnesota Vikings)
Xavier Legette — Wide Receiver — South Carolina

Daniel Jones may not be very good, but he doesn’t have any help either. Getting Legette gives them a full package #1 receiver who is big, physical and athletic.

24th Overall Pick — Dallas Cowboys
Troy Fautanu — Offensive Tackle — Washington

Cowboys like their versatile offensive linemen and Fautanu could come in and start at 2 or 3 spots from day 1.

25th Overall Pick — Green Bay Packers
Olu Fashanu — Offensive Tackle — Penn State

Packers need a long-term answer at left tackle and Fashanu has one of the highest ceilings of any tackle in the draft. He may not start on day 1, but he should be the long-term answer.

26th Overall Pick — Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jackson Powers-Johnson — Center — Oregon

The Bucs get themselves a violent, mean center who can serve as a great successor to Ryan Jensen.

27th Overall Pick — Indianapolis Colts (from Houston Texans via Arizona Cardinals)
Chop Robinson — Edge Defender — Penn State

As I’ve always said, whatever you think will happen is not going to happen. The Colts need a cornerback and wide receiver, so it’s only right that Ballard trades back and takes a defensive lineman. Robinson is arguably the most athletic and explosive defensive end in this class and his addition would strengthen the entire defense and potentially give the Colts a superstar defensive end in his 2nd or 3rd season.

28th Overall Pick — Miami Dolphins (from Buffalo Bills)
Xavier Worthy — Wide Receiver — Texas

The Dolphins love speed more than any other team and Worthy is the fastest player the draft has ever seen. I wouldn’t put it past them to take their offense to a new level and establish themselves as the fastest offense in NFL history.

29th Overall Pick — Detroit Lions
Jer’Zahn Newton — Defensive Tackle — Illinois

Newton projects as an athletic 3 tech and with some time needed to develop, the Lions should be a perfect fit since he can start as a rotational guy and build from there.

30th Overall Pick — Las Vegas Raiders (from Baltimore Ravens)
Michael Penix Jr — Quarterback — Washington
Trade: Raiders trade 44th Overall + 2025 2nd Pick for 30th Overall

The Raiders aren’t set at quarterback for the long-term so I can see them taking a shot at Penix late in the 1st. It helps that this would be their 2nd pick and they wouldn’t have to give up the farm to get him. The Raiders can roll with Minshew/O’Connell and let Penix develop for a year and then re-evaluate things in 2025 when Penix is more developed.

31st Overall Pick — Houston Texans (from San Francisco 49ers)
Nate Wiggins — Cornerback — Clemson
Trade: Texans trade 42nd Overall + 59th Overall for 31st Overall

I could see the Texans trading back up into the first to get a dropping Nate Wiggins. He helps fill a secondary need and he’s a quality player who can start as a rookie.

32nd Overall Pick — Kansas City Chiefs
Jermaine Burton — Wide Receiver — Alabama

Burton is troubled and we know the Chiefs love troubled players in the draft. This entire thing is a guess anyways…

2nd Round

33rd Overall Pick — Carolina Panthers
Jared Verse — Edge Defender — Florida State

34th Overall Pick — New England Patriots
Troy Franklin — Wide Receiver — Oregon

35th Overall Pick — Indianapolis Colts (from Arizona Cardinals)
Brian Thomas Jr — Wide Receiver — LSU

A potential medical red flag could cause many teams to pass on Thomas. If healthy, Thomas should go somewhere in the late teens or early 20s. Ballard implied he wants a playmaker on offense and while Thomas may not be able to have an immediate impact, he could be the game-changer the Colts need on offense.

36th Overall Pick — Washington Commanders
Chris Braswell — Edge Defender — Alabama

37th Overall Pick — Los Angeles Chargers
Keon Coleman — Wide Receiver — Florida State

38th Overall Pick — Tennessee Titans
Jordan Morgan — Offensive Tackle — Arizona

39th Overall Pick — Carolina Panthers
Zach Frazier — Center — West Virginia

40th Overall Pick — Los Angeles Rams (from Washington Commanders)
Bo Nix — Quarterback — Oregon
Rams trade 52nd Overall + 99th Overall for 40th Overall

41st Overall Pick — Green Bay Packers (from New York Jets)
Ladd McConkey — Wide Receiver — Georgia

42nd Overall Pick — San Francisco 49ers (from Minnesota Vikings via Houston Texans)
Patrick Paul — Offensive Tackle — Houston

43rd Overall Pick — Atlanta Falcons
Mike Sainristil — Cornerback — Michigan

44th Overall Pick — Baltimore Ravens (from Las Vegas Raiders)
Payton Wilson — Linebacker — NC State

45th Overall Pick — New Orleans Saints (from Denver Broncos)
Devontez Walker — Wide Receiver — North Carolina

46th Overall Pick — Indianapolis Colts
Max Melton — Cornerback — Rutgers

Melton checks off a lot of boxes as he’s one of the most athletic cornerbacks in the draft. He also has the right size and top end speed. He has good versatility and great instincts. He could start from day 1, but could be eased in as he needs some time to develop with his technique.

47th Overall Pick — New York Giants (from Seattle Seahawks)
Braden Fiske — Defensive Tackle — Florida State

48th Overall Pick — Jacksonville Jaguars
Adisa Isaac — Edge Defender — Penn State

49th Overall Pick — Cincinnati Bengals
Ricky Pearsall — Wide Receiver — Florida

50th Overall Pick — New Orleans Saints (from Philadelphia Eagles)
Kris Jenkins — Defensive Tackle — Michigan

51st Overall Pick — Pittsburgh Steelers
Roman Wilson — Wide Receiver — Michigan

52nd Overall Pick — Washington Commanders
Tyler Nubin — Safety — Minnesota

53rd Overall Pick — Tampa Bay Buccaneers (from Philadelphia Eagles)
Blake Corum — Running Back — Michigan
Trade: Bucs trade 57th Overall + 125th Overall for 53rd Overall

54th Overall Pick — Cleveland Browns
Edgerrin Cooper — Linebacker — Texas A&M

55th Overall Pick — Miami Dolphins
TJ Tampa — Cornerback — Iowa State

56th Overall Pick — Dallas Cowboys
Jonathan Brooks — Running Back — Texas

57th Overall Pick — Philadelphia Eagles (from Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
Ja Lynn Polk — Wide Receiver — Washington

58th Overall Pick — Green Bay Packers
Javon Bullard — Safety — Georgia

59th Overall Pick — San Francisco 49ers (from Houston Texans)
Kamari Lassiter — Cornerback — Georgia

60th Overall Pick — Arizona Cardinals (from Miami Dolphins via Buffalo Bills)
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. — Cornerback — Missouri
Trade: Cards trade 66th Overall + 104th Overall for 60th Overall Pick

61st Overall Pick — Detroit Lions
Jonah Eliss — Edge Defender — Houston

62nd Overall Pick — Baltimore Ravens
Brenden Rice — Wide Receiver — USC

63rd Overall Pick — New York Jets (from San Francisco 49ers)
Theo Johnson — Tight End — Penn State
Trade: Jets trade 72nd Overall + 111th Overall for 63rd Overall

64th Overall Pick — Kansas City Chiefs
Darius Robinson — Edge Defender — Missouri

82d Overall Pick — Indianapolis Colts (from Arizona Cardinals)
Ben Sinnott — Tight End — Kansas State

Sinnott is a very athletic tight end and you could argue that tight end is the Colts’ biggest need.
