AEW books the Dynamite Kid in a match on Collision

Due to the NBA and NHL playoffs schedule, this Saturday’s (May 11) episode of AEW Collision in Vancouver is airing on the TBS network rather than its usual home on TNT, and it will be followed by a live hour of Rampage.

AEW didn’t have anything announced for this card until near the very end of last night’s Dynamite, when TNT Champion Adam Copeland accepted a challenge from Kyle O’Reilly, who happens to be billed from Vancouver. Just as Dynamite was going off the air, it was also announced that the returning Bryan Danielson will be in action on Collision.

A couple more items have been added to the card since then. First, Bryan’s match was laid out in detail. He’s teaming with Claudio Castagnoli to take on Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin).

Tony Khan also announced that “Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington will go one-on-one with FTR’s Dax Harwood.

The current “Dynamite Kid” is the nephew of the late Tom Billington, who popularized the same nickname throughout the 1980’s while teaming with Davey Boy Smith as part of the British Bulldogs. You might know the current Dynamite Kid best from his work with MLW in late 2022.

Is the legacy draw of the Dynamite Kid enough to get you to tune into Collision (and Rampage) or manually set your DVR for TBS (rather than recording TNT) this Saturday night? Let me know what you think about AEW’s advertised matches in the comments below, Cagesiders.
