Jumping to the second and third round of the DBN Community NFL Mock Draft for the Cleveland Browns’ draft picks.

The previous picks of the 2024 DBN Community NFL Mock Draft can be found here:

Now, we jump to the second and third round to project who the Cleveland Browns’ picks will be. Unfortunately, Cleveland does not have a first round pick.

“Michael Dean Perry walks to the podium and says with the 54th pick in the 2024 NFL draft, the Cleveland Browns select Defensive Tackle Michael Hall Jr. from The Ohio State University….

With one of the most solid starting rosters in the NFL, the Browns are in a blessed position of being able to draft depth and for the future. Hall Jr is a guy that has freaky speed (4.78) and athleticism (33 inch vertical) and was playing out of position at NT during the 23 season. Since the Browns have a couple of huge tackles with Tomlinson and Ika to absorb multiple lineman, Hall Jr. can be the other defensive lineman that disrupts everything and finally gets pressure on the QB inside of Garrett.

One of his weaknesses pointed out by every scout is his size and he already added 10 lbs of muscle to his playing weight of 280 at Ohio State. We like that his frame allows room for more muscle mass. His performance was one of the most dominant at the Senior Bowl, consistently pushing lineman into the backfield and constantly turning heads from all the coaches and scouts. Lastly, the fact that he doesn’t turn 21 until a couple months after the draft doesn’t hurt his status.”

No. 85 – Browns – Junior Colson, LB, Michigan

“We need a starting linebacker. Devin Bush is garbage and needs to be a veteran locker presence not a starter on this defense.

The Browns have had some success in the mid rounds over the last few years and hopefully that trend continues. I do find it hard to believe that they would draft a defensive tackle in the second round. They already have Tomlinson, Harris, Jefferson, Hurst, and Ika. Zadarius Smith will also kick inside on some third downs, so I don’t see how they have a need or the roster space for a sixth defensive tackle. My belief is if one of the wide receivers or offensive tackles falls, they would consider drafting them for the simple fact of positional value and depth in this draft. Someone like Keon Coleman, Xavier Leggette, Troy Franklin or Jalynn Polk may be there and those guys are all borderline first round talents. I believe you should always draft BPA in the first three rounds no matter what. The order of need in my opinion is as follows: LB, TE, OT, RB, OG, DB.

Right now, we have young talent at running back. Neither Ford nor Strong is a world beater, but they create a two-headed committee between the 10’s and D’Onta Foreman can come in for goal line. That should be very serviceable until Chubb can make it back and show us if there is anything left in his knee. Brooks (ACL injury) would be an interesting pick if he could be drafted and then placed on IR for his rookie year. He’s a first round talent and we could stash him as a great Chubb insurance policy for 2025 and beyond. I think if Sinnott at tight end or Edgerrin Cooper at linebacker are there in the second round, they would also be under heavy consideration.

I think this will be Bitonio’s last season. It felt like his play was starting to fall off last year and if one of the top two guards are their that may also be an option.

Ultimately, in this case, the Browns get Junior Colson in the third round, a player who can bring maximum force next to JOK’s speed and coverage. We need some real depth and a farm system mentality to all position groups. The linebacking core needs more long term potential and so the Browns look to the north and get their man.”
