Here’s who the Denver Broncos should target in Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft.

After two days of the 2024 NFL Draft the Denver Broncos have acquired possibly their franchise quarterback (finally) and an EDGE rusher. With two picks Denver has addressed large holes on their roster. Heading into day three of the draft they are left with six more picks and still have some big needs to take care of.

Here’s the positions that still need help and who the Broncos should target.

Remaining picks:

  • Fourth Round — #121
  • Fifth Round — #136
  • Fifth Round — #145
  • Fifth Round — #147
  • Sixth Round — #207
  • Seventh Round — #256

Wide receiver

Best remaining prospect: Troy Franklin, Oregon

While it’s not bad, the Broncos wide receiver room could use a shot in the arm, and Troy Franklin will provide exactly that. Franklin would be a massive playmaker and comes with the added bonus of already having an elite level of chemistry with new Broncos quarterback Bo Nix. Denver should be looking to address this position next, but if they really do want Franklin, I would imagine that Denver would need to move up quite a few picks. Their #121 overall pick puts them at 21st in the 4th round and I would be beyond shocked if Franklin fell that far.

Javon Baker may be a good back up option if needed.

Tight end

Best remaining prospect: Ja’Tavion Sanders, Texas

It’s been a while since the Broncos had a true receiving threat at the TE position, and while Greg Dulcich still holds plenty of potential, his injuries are a big concern and Denver should look to grab a tight end if possible. Sanders, a 6’3”, 245 pound force with a knack for racking up yards after the catch. His weakness revolves around his ability to block, but Denver already has blocking tight ends so this is not too much of a concern, in my opinion.

Defensive tackle

Best remaining prospect: Mekhi Wingo, LSU

Denver, while they lack size on the front seven, they make up for that in pure athleticism, and this is a trait that they continued with following their drafting of Utah EDGE Jonah Elliss. They can continue this trend even further if they decide to make a move on Wingo, who ran the second-fastest 40 yard dash of all defensive tackles at the combine and he also had the fastest 10-yard split among all defensive tackles. And he’s not just fast, but strong too. He uses his impressive combination of speed and power to give himself one heck-of-a get-off.

Other top prospects

Offensive:

  • Christian Jones, OT, Texas
  • Sataoa Laumea, OG, Utah
  • Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, C, Georgia
  • Jaylen Wright, RB, Tennessee

Defensive:

  • T.J. Tampa, CB, Iowa St.
  • Jaden Hicks, S, Washington St.
