Where to get Chewbacca’s Bowcaster in Fortnite

The Fortnite Sat Wars crossover has taken over the game this week! It’s a new installment of one of Epic’s most popular collabs, but a lot of the focus isn’t on Battle Royale. Just because Lego is the main event, it doesn’t mean that there isn’t new content in BR. Particularly, the new Chewbacca’s Bowcaster weapon!

This is our brand new Mythic for Chapter 5’s major Fortnite Star Wars collab. We’ve got some returning items too though. There’s the standard blaster, and you can find Darth Vader on the map by grabbing his lightsaber. The newest weapon is Chewbacca’s Bowcaster, it’s one of the most exciting in the lootpool right now though.

Tracking down Chewbacca’s weapon can be a tad complicated. According to Epic you’ve got to rescue the character from an Imperial encampment. If you jump in and play though, you’ll likely find this one encounter isn’t too different from the normal roadblocks. Closer to standard looting. Still, the Bowcaster is an exciting item that packs a powerful punch. Where can you track down Chewbacca’s Bowcaster in Fortnite?

Where is Chewbacca’s Bowcaster in Fortnite?

Chewbacca’s Bowcaster is a new weapon in the game right now. There are two ways to get one. They both come from the Star Wars locations on the map, the roadblocks set up by Imperial stormtroopers. The chests inside of these can drop the weapon in some modes. However, you can also track down Chewbacca himself.

At a random one of the Imperial Roadblocks, you’ll be able to find the Wookie. He’ll be engaged in a battle with stormtroopers. Take out the troopers, and you’ll be rewarded with the bowcaster!

That’s how you can track down Chewbacca’s Bowcaster in Fortnite. How do you know which of the Roadblocks the character is actually at though? It’s a random one for each game. However, the Wookie’s location will be signaled. There’s a blue light shining from his location in each game. It’s kind of like tracking down Darth Vader in Fortnite, this light will let you know where to land.

How Does the Wookie Gun Measure Up?

That’s where you can find the new weapon. This time for Fortnite X Star Wars there’s only a handful of items in the game, so how does it compare to the rest of the loot? It does have its uses.

The Bowcaster fires explosive shots. It’s slow, but if you fully charge up the shot it can take out a player in a single hit. This is a weapon that deals AOE explosive damage too, which means it’s usually helpful for some fun plays. Kind of like a slower version of the explosive repeater rifle, with a much bigger damage output. Since it does so much damage, if you land one between two players fighting you can easily take both out third partying.

It doesn’t really outshoot the sniper, but in situations where you can’t be exact, it can be a big help this season. Plus, if you save Chewbacca he automatically joins you as a follower NPC! It’s always helpful to get another teammate.
