Meko and Morgan are back to discuss which Lions’ player would improve the team the most by taking their game to a new level.

The 2023 season for the Detroit Lions was truly a magical one. Playoff droughts were ended, expectations were reset, and the Lions came within minutes of appearing in the first Super Bowl in franchise history. The coolest part? It may just be the tip of the iceberg.

Sure, things can change in a hurry from year to year in the NFL, but when you look at the current makeup of the Lions’ young roster, it’s hard not to get excited—both for the present and the future.

Several young cornerstones of the franchise stepped up last season, propelling the Lions deep into the NFC Playoffs. Players that were drafted by general manager Brad Holmes over the last three years like right tackle Penei Sewell, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, and tight end Sam LaPorta each earned All-Pro nods in 2023. Really impressive when you consider two of those players were in year three of their careers and one was a rookie.

Others like running back Jahmyr Gibbs and defensive end Aidan Hutchinson also had terrific years and could be on the cusp of All-Pro nods themselves.

Beyond that, there are still a bunch of young players on the Lions that could be the next to elevate their game to another level.

Third-year wide receiver Jameson Williams could be in line for a monster year, and if he does indeed take those steps as a player, the Lions’ offense could possibly go from being elite in 2023, to downright terrifying in 2024

Others like cornerback Carlton Davis III, defensive lineman Josh Paschal, and second-year linebacker Jack Campbell would also be worthy candidates for this discussion.

Find out what my good friend Meko and I have to say about this topic as we break down which player’s improvement might have the biggest impact on the Lions’ 2024 season.
