According to the statement, the listed players won’t be able to participate in any Riot Games esports activities, including official tournaments or organized by third parties.

The teams’ reaction to the investigations

In a recent Reddit thread, the two teams Rainbow Warriors and MGN Blue Esports have confirmed the investigations, meaning they will stop competing. Team Whales ended up terminating contracts with BeanJ and Gloryy, although both have stated it was their request to be removed and they are looking to prove they’re clean. Cerberus Esports also claims their players are in the clear and that they will be working closely with the committee to prove their innocence.

Match-fixing has been a big topic in the competitive scene. According to League analyst Molecule, low salaries are one of the main reasons why players end up getting caught in these acts. Recently, Ultra Liga team Iron Wolves went under investigation following suspected win trading behavior by their two Chinese imports.

With MSI fast approaching, it’s unclear what will happen to the VCS and whether it will impact the league’s participation at the first international tournament of the season. The organizers have, however, mentioned that there will be updates regarding the restart of the competition.
