The Bears had a long wait from their second first round pick but finally got it in the third round.
It was a long wait for the Chicago Bears and their fans tonight.
The distance between their picks at No. 9 and No. 75 was discussed a lot before the draft.
Would they trade up using their abundant future capital? Would they stay put and let the board come to them?
They ended up standing pat and watching a lot of players come off the board.
Friday’s second round opened with a run on defensive linemen and defensive backs. A few receivers went and then some OL and EDGE players.
The logjam of defensive players being pushed down out of round one kicked off a flurry of trade activity at the top of round two.
As the pick neared, we got a peek at who our experts liked.

What are we thinking? IOL?

Jacob added some great levity to the situation as the Bears went on the clock.
Whether I like the #Bears pick here or not, they have Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze.
They already have a great draft no matter what.

Gervon Dexter is watching.

The pick is in!
With their Round 3 pick (75th overall), the #Bears selected Yale OT Kiran Amegadjie
— Brad Biggs (@BradBiggs) April 27, 2024
Another local guy!@dpbrugler on new Bears OT Kiran Amegadjie: “Amegadjie is a raw prospect who needs technical and strength work before he sees live NFL reps, but his physical ingredients and competitive drive are the foundational elements that pro coaches want to develop.”
— Kevin Fishbain (@kfishbain) April 27, 2024
Kiran Amegadjie is a tackle with guard experience. He is from Hinsdale.
And just minutes before the pick…
Kiran Amegadjie also had 669 snaps at left guard in 2021. I’d be very happy with him on the #Bears. https://t.co/62PrdKKzTL

OL at least. I believe he has G-T versatility. I can dig it. https://t.co/cWjUuVSQAg

The last time Kiran Amegadjie allowed a sack was week 11 of 2021 pic.twitter.com/dKpFUjx5lB

The #Bears love going local.
This time it’s Kiran Amegadjie, a Yalie from Hinsdale Central.— Patrick Finley (@patrickfinley) April 27, 2024
Bears go for the offensive trifecta now grabbing a tackle with their third pick in Kiran Amegadjie at No. 75.
He’s a hometown kid, went to Hinsdale Central. He’s a big dude and trained with OL great Willie Anderson. Started at both tackle and guard. Total Poles guy.
— Carmen Vitali (@CarmieV) April 27, 2024
#Bears new OL Kiran Amegadjie is a MASSIVE person with G/T flexibility.
The Bears need young OL in the pipeline, so I like the thinking behind the pick. A raw, physical talent that could develop at multiple positions. Poles is surrounding his QB with talent. https://t.co/8BzBqtwPP9 pic.twitter.com/Yji76j0JR4

The Bears aren’t fucking around here offense offense offense. They’ve never done this my entire time as a fan. Ever. They’re usually drafting some pre-injured DT or a safety nobody was checking for right about now.
— Bayek of Sowa (@SowaTheArrogant) April 27, 2024
Amegadjie, who played high school football at Hinsdale Central, “projects as a backup left tackle as a rookie who has all the tools to gradually develop into an NFL starter,” per @dpbrugler, who wrote this great piece on the new Bear https://t.co/KVMXbF88WB
