Triple H hosted a media call earlier today and was asked about the rumors of a possible ring return to be on Team WWE NXT at Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view.
“No, I have no interest in that,” Triple H laughed and said of a possible ring return. “I have zero interest in that. As a matter of fact, if somebody came to me right now and said, ‘Hey you should take that spot…’, I would fight that vigorously.”
Triple H talked about not wanting to wrestle, especially for the NXT brand. He also had a big tease for the final member of Team Ciampa for the men’s WarGames match on Saturday at the NXT “Takeover: WarGames 2019” event. The match currently has Captain Tommaso Ciampa, Keith Lee, Dominik Dijakovic and one member to be revealed vs. The Undisputed Era (Captain and NXT Champion Adam Cole, NXT Tag Team Champions Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish, NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong). There’s no word yet on the final member of Team Ciampa, but Triple H said it will be “epic” to see.
“I don’t need to be a part of this. NXT’s about youth, NXT’s about the future,” Triple H said. “It’s about the success of a new generation of star. If everything’s a moment that you can add to that and help that get to another level, obviously you want to do everything you can to make it happen, but for me in this moment, it’s about others. I want them to shine on that stage, I want them to to have this moment. I know that at WarGames, there’s an open slot on the Ciampa team. That’s going to be a ‘day of’… when people find out, I believe, but it’s going to be epic, and people will be very excited.”
We noted earlier in the week, via @Wrestlevotes, that there had been a creative push within WWE for Triple H to wrestle at Survivor Series. It was noted then that the idea had been met with mixed reactions, including from Triple H, who reportedly did not want to wrestle at the big event.
