AEW star Shawn Spears took to Twitter last night to reveal that WWE Hall of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart gave him permission to use the famous sharpshooter submission hold as his new finisher. Spears used the maneuver to defeat Baron Black on yesterday’s episode of Dynamite, a moment that didn’t go unnoticed by the AEW wrestling fan-base.
Spears writes, “For those commenting: A while back, I sent a text to Bret Hart asking a question. He told me: “Go for it, it works” Tonight as @IAmJericho mentioned, I paid tribute to a Canadian ICON by winning via the #Sharpshooter. It just makes sense. Mine now.”
