Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Fightful Select says we can expect more swaps and NXT call ups with the second night of the WWE Draft.
  • PW Insider notes that Drew McIntyre won’t be back on TV immediately while he recovers from his elbow injury. He has been getting high praise backstage for working through it on the recent tour overseas.
  • Speaking of McIntyre, he got a multi-year, big money deal, per Fightful. They also say we can expect more WWE deals to be completed or announced soon.
  • WrestlePurists says MJF had surgery on his left shoulder and there is no timetable for his return to AEW. He was apparently originally aiming for a return in March and met with Tony Khan to talk about plans for it but that’s all been pushed back now.
  • There were plans for Shelton Benjamin to work a program in AEW but due to an injury to someone there, those talks slowed down and he’s headed to PROGRESS now, says Fightful Select.
