Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Sources tell WrestleVotes that Solo Sikoa’s post-WrestleMania “aggressive streak” is designed to establish him as “‘the’ main force” in The Bloodline before Jacob Fatu debuts as WWE creative is somewhat afraid “that Fatu’s presence could outshine Solo at this stage”.
  • During an interview with Tampa radio station Q105 (h/t TMZ Sports) Ric Flair said he was “wrong” for losing his temper during his family’s visit to Piesanos last weekend. He also denied being intoxicated, saying he only drank Michelob Ultras and “probably” two mixed drinks.
  • During a LiveSigning video to promote her book, Ronda Rousey said a match with Becky Lynch “constantly got dangled” in front of her by WWE but the company never offered her the one-on-one match with Lynch that she “really wanted”.
  • Sexyy Red tweeting about NXT’s Trick Williams/Meta-Four angle on Tuesday night was “no accident”, per Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan. Sources say WWE has a “partnership” with the St. Louis rapper, and that “there are expectations for more interactions” between Red and the company going forward.
  • Regarding Gable Steveson’s WWE release, Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that Steveson was on “a very big money contract and he wasn’t cutting it.”
  • Rocky Romero, who works in management for both AEW and New Japan, told Fightful Select that Stardom will “definitely” be involved in this year’s Forbidden Door PPV. Romero said CMLL “very likely” will be, too.
