More potential poaching.

Philadelphia Eagles director of scouting Brandon Hunt is interviewing for the New England Patriots’ primary football executive position this week, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Albert Breer notes that Hunt is the first known external interview that the Patriots have conducted for their de facto general manager job.

Hunt joined the Eagles during the 2022 offseason after previously spending 12 years with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Eagles’ front office has been poached repeatedly in recent years. Other teams are clearly attracted to the relative success that Philly has had. Hunt could potentially be the next executive to find a promotion elsewhere.

Or maybe not. There’s thought that the Pats are going through this search to comply with Rooney Rule requirements before inevitably promoting their own director of scouting, Eliot Wolf (son of former Pro Football Hall of Fame Green Bay Packers GM Ron Wolf).

On that note, multiple minority candidates have already turned down interviews for the Patriots’ opening. Hunt apparently has not.

We’ll see how it goes.
