The Los Angeles Rams could be a team that makes an aggressive move on Thursday night during the NFL Draft. For the first time since 2016, the Rams are set to make a pick in the first round and according to reports, they are looking to make the most of it. According to Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the Rams are making calls to trade into the top-10.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Rams get aggressive in the first round. When Snead has picked in the middle of the first round in the past, he has historically traded up. Back in 2013, the Rams traded from 16 to eight to draft West Virginia wide receiver Tavon Austin. In 2016, they traded up to the number one overall pick to take Cal quarterback Jared Goff.

This has been a scenario that has felt likely for awhile as the Rams look top add top-tier talent to the roster. The question remains which player Snead would make this caliber of move to go get. There has been some traction gaining on Texas defensive lineman Byron Murphy going inside the top-10. Murphy is a player who could step in and replace the hole left by Aaron Donald. The Rams could also be looking to move up for a wide receiver like Rome Odunze if he were to fall or potentially even a tackle such as Joe Alt or Olu Fashanu.

With the Atlanta Falcons sitting at number eight overall, a move to that spot would make the most sense given the relationships between the two franchises. The Falcons’ current head coach is Raheem Morris who was the Rams defensive coordinator over the past three years. Additionally, Snead has a connection with the Falcons as well given that he was there for 13 years prior to joining the Rams.

We’ll see what the Rams end up doing, but the draft hasn’t even started yet and it seems like Snead is already hot on the phones.
