High praise.

The Cincinnati Bengals got an elite talent in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft when they selected Alabama wide receiver Jermaine Burton with the 80th overall pick. Burton adds a lot of talent to a wide receiver room that already boasts Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

Character concerns may have led to Burton falling, but his potential has never been questioned. Burton has the ability to play both outside and in the slot effectively and has some of the strongest hands in the draft.

On the PFF NFL Podcast, Steve Palazzolo called Burton the most important pick in the draft.

Palazzolo views Burton as a first round talent, and the Bengals selecting him in the third round could prove to be the biggest steal of the draft.

The Bengals have built a strong culture in Zac Taylor’s time in Cincinnati, so hopefully Burton is able to adjust to life in the NFL and have a successful career.

Palazzolo isn’t the only one who is high on Burton. NBC Sports analyst Chris Simms believes Burton is one of the biggest draft sleepers at wideout, and you can see his reasoning below.
