Nottingham win at Southampton, no winner between Leeds and West Ham

The 19th day of the Premier League continued this Wednesday evening with four games on the program. The first confrontation opposed two relegated clubs and in bad shape since the start of the season: Southampton, red lantern, received Nottingham Forest (18th). Worst team in the championship at home (only one victory), the Saints started the game badly by conceding a goal in the 27th minute through the intermediary of the center forward of Forest, Taiwo Awoniyi (0-1, 27th). Well in place defensively and in a meeting lacking in spectacle, Brennan Johnson’s teammates resisted attacks from Southampton until the final whistle. With this success (0-1), Nottingham Forest leaves the relegation zone. Conversely, Southampton is stuck in the bottom of the Premier League standings.

For the second poster of this evening, West Ham (17th) moved on the Leeds lawn (14th). After a very nice collective action, Wilfried Gnonto opened the scoring for the Whites with a powerful low shot (1-0, 27th). But Jesse Marsch’s men were joined just before the break after a perfectly hit penalty Lucas Paqueta (1-1, 45th + 1). A blow behind the head for Rodrigo’s partners who, as soon as they returned from the locker room, conceded a second goal on an overpowered strike from 25 meters from Gianluca Scamacca (1-2, 46th). But Leeds had not said its last word since Rodrigo equalized in the 70th minute (2-2, 70th). Nothing will finally be marked in this spectacular meeting, despite the domination of the Peacocks. A draw which does not help anyone since the two teams remain deep in the second part of the table.
