The context of Scotland – Spain
Spain meet Scotland, in Glasgow, in a Group A meeting of the 2024 European Championship qualifiers. La Roja, now coached by Luis de la Fuente, are looking for a second victory in a row after a difficult first victory against Norway (3-0). Against a Nordic selection deprived of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, the Spaniards won with a goal from Dani Olmo and a brace from Joselu. The 2010 world champions face the Scots who also won their first match at the expense of the modest selection of Cyprus (3-0), thanks in particular to two goals from Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.
The probable line-ups of Scotland – Spain
Scotland should be deprived of the services of Che Adams, injured against Cyprus. For its part, Spain should align substantially the same victorious starting lineup of Norway. As a reminder, the successor on the bench of Luis Enrique did not retain Jordi Alba, Sergio Ramos and Pablo Sarabia. Luis de la Fuente did not register an injury in the first game. Double scorer against the Norwegians for his very first summons and selection for the A, Joselu should retain the confidence of the coach. Also called for the first time, David Garcia will aim for his first minutes.
The probable line-up of Scotland
Gunn – Hanley, Porteous, Tierney – Hickey, McGregor, McTominay, Robertson – McGinn, Christie – Dykes.
Coach: Steve Clarke.
The probable line-up of Spain
Arrizabalaga-Carvajal, Fernandez, Laporte, Balde-Merino, Rodri, Ruiz-Olmo, Morata, Gavi.
Coach: Luis de la Fuente.
