Kingdom Come Deliverance II Revealed in Leaked Trailer

on

IGN has inadvertently leaked Kingdom Come Deliverance II by publishing a teaser trailer ahead of today’s official announcement. The game’s developer, Warhorse, is set to unveil KCDII in an exclusive stream later today, but it has already been spoiled by IGN. There are recordings of the trailer circulating online, and although it’s brief, it shows plenty about the upcoming title. It effectively reveals that KCDII is a direct sequel to the first game, which was released in 2018 to a very positive reception.

In Kingdom Come Deliverance II, Henry of Skalitz will see his story continue in high fidelity. At first blush, the visuals of KCDII look leagues ahead of the first game, and everything from character models and animations to lighting and textures seems to have undergone a monumental boost. It was mentioned in the teaser that KCDII will be released in 2024, which means it’ll drop in just a few months.

Kingdom Come Deliverance is one of the most authentic and enjoyable RPG titles released in the last decade. It’s set in a drastically realistic environment in 1403 and it follows a real-world tale with a fictional protagonist. From skill trees to survival mechanics, Kingdom Come Deliverance had it all, and it boasted an immersive story that was a wonder to explore. Not only that but the game was broadened through several expansions that served to entertain fans further.

It has taken Warhorse six years to reveal the follow-up title, so there are high expectations that the team has been cooking beautifully in that time. I’m a huge fan of the first game and can’t wait for the sequel – the short reveal trailer leaked online looks phenomenal. If you’re a fan of historic open-world games like Assassin’s Creed, you’ll love Kingdom Come.

In the teaser, we hear Henry talking about his ambitions. He stresses that he always wanted to ‘become more than a peasant’, which is exactly what happens in the first game. From humble beginnings as the son of a blacksmith, Henry of Skalitz suffers terribly at the hands of a foreign invasion that leaves his hometown burned to ashes. He’s forced to undergo a path of redemption, becoming a skilled warrior and a survivor of the war unfolding around him.

I’ll advocate for a playthrough of the first game before Kingdom Come Deliverance II is released. From what the teaser trailer shows, it’s almost necessary that you play the first game to get an understanding of what’s going on in the follow-up title.
